Allow me to introduce myself - Hi, I'm Dayna. Originally from the picturesque coastal town of Paraparaumu Beach in New Zealand and currently based in stunning Hawea, I have always led an active lifestyle. Training as a competitive swimmer for over a decade exposed me to the intricacies of high-performance training. However, from a young age, I found myself grappling with societal pressures related to body image, unable to conform to prevailing "trends."

During my youth, being athletic and muscular wasn't considered "trendy," presenting a confusing situation for a teenager. Now, I embrace and take pride in how my body looks based on its performance capabilities. I recognize that feeling strong, functional, and nourished is crucial. Training has consistently served as an outlet for me, offering a sense of self-achievement and purpose. This journey of being strong, functional, and nourished has not only transformed my physical well-being but has also been profoundly beneficial to my mental health, providing a stable and positive foundation for navigating life's challenges. It is this realisation that inspired the inception of State of Performance.

Hi, Iā€™m Dayna

Beyond my passion for fitness, I bring 5 years as a coach and over seven years of experience as a registered nurse to the table. My clinical background has furnished me with an understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and holistic healthcare practices aimed at enhancing overall well-being. Furthermore, I am presently pursuing studies to become a sports nutritionist, a pursuit that further enriches my coaching practice with clients.

I am deeply committed to integrating evidence-based research and clinical insights into my role as a personal trainer, guiding you towards your goals and fostering a sense of empowerment along the way.
